Online Banking Requirements

Online Bill Payment

Start paying your bills online and you may never want to write a check again. Bill Payment allows users to make one-time payments and schedule recurring payments – all through HHCU Online Banking. Simply login to Online Banking and click on "Bill Payment" to get started.

  • Save time and stamps by paying your bills with Bill Payment.
  • Pay bills when you want, or set them up to recur each month.
  • Pay anyone with Bill Payment – even your babysitter or the PTA!
  • Keeps track of your payments for you each month.

How it works:

  1. Sign Up
    To sign up, log into Online Banking. When you click on the Bill Payment icon, a disclosure will be presented to which you must agree in order to use Bill Payment. Then, you will be prompted to complete a short Bill Payment application.
  2. Bill Payment Payee Setup
    In the Pay Someone New section of the Make Payments page, enter the name of the person or business you want to pay and click Continue. The Add a Person or Business to Pay window appears. Enter the required information about the person or business you want to pay and click Continue. Then click Go to Make Payments. The person or business is saved and ready to be paid.
  3. Schedule Payments
    After payees have been established, you may begin scheduling payments from the Make Payments page. A payment is scheduled by simply entering the dollar amount next to the payee you want to pay, selecting the process date of the payment, and clicking on the Pay button. When scheduling payments, please remember receipt of payment by the payee may take up to three (3) business days for an electronic payee and five (5) business days if the payee is paid by check, as reflected by the "Deliver By" date. Payments should clear your account via ACH channels the business day following the process date.

Bill Payment Fees
Bill Pay is FREE if you use FREE eStatements. If you do not use eStatements, you will be billed as follows: If you have direct deposit or payroll deduction with us, you will only be charged $0.36 per bill paid. If you do not have direct deposit or payroll deduction with us, you will be charged a $2 sign-up fee, $1.75 per month, and $0.36 per bill paid. Your account will be debited for Bill Payment service between the 5th and 15th of each month.  If you have questions about Bill Payment, please feel free to contact our Call Center at 812.279.6644 or 800.865.2612.

FinanceWorks is a FREE Personal Financial Management (PFM) tool within Online Banking. Getting started is as easy as 1, 2, 3…

  1. Gather your user names and passwords for all your checking, saving, and credit card accounts.
  2. Log in to Hoosier Hills Online Banking with your User Name and Password and click “FinanceWorks” which can be found below the “account access” tab once logged in.
  3. Enter the account name into the search box located under the “Accounts” section in upper left-hand corner. It’s that easy!

FinanceWorks automatically categorizes your expenses allowing you to get a more complete picture of your spending—in just minutes! With an easy-to-read snapshot of your finances, you will be able to see where your money is going and identify places to save!


In addition to automatically pulling financial transactions from a Hoosier Hills account, members can now aggregate account information from over 16,000 financial institutions. This means members can truly analyze their overall financial picture from one location. Bill payment, budgeting tools, balance notifications, and a tax watch option are all available from the FinanceWorks homepage.

Sign up for eStatements

HHCU eStatements are the easy secure way to receive your account information.

  • Secure – Delivered securely through Online Banking, not your mailbox - reducing opportunity for identity theft. In addition, eStatements are not emailed, they are available for download within Online Banking which requires a password and multi-factor authentication to access.
  • Easy – Simply login to Online Banking and retrieve your statement at your convenience. You can then view your statement, save to your computer, or print it out.
  • Fast – eStatements are typically ready 5 days faster than paper statements.
  • Identical – Your eStatement is the same as the paper statement you're currently receiving. It will still serve as your official statement for paperwork needs.

Mobile Banking App and Web Access

When you access this website from your mobile device, you’ll automatically be directed to HHCU’s mobile site. If you have an iPhone, Kindle Fire or an Android, you’ll have an option on your screen to download the free HHCU app. You can then quickly and easily access many features of Online Banking right from your mobile phone! To use Mobile Banking, you’ll need to be signed up for Online Banking, as it uses the same password. Mobile banking is safe and secure, using the same multi-factor authentication system as Online Banking to protect your information.

Mobile Banking App Adds New Features

HHCU’s mobile app now has some new features to add convenience to your banking. These features have been available through online banking, but now you can access them on your mobile device, too!

  1. Schedule recurring transfers and payments. (Access in the Transfers section.)

  2. Add a memo line to your transfers to remind yourself about the purpose of the transfer, who the money was transferred to, or whatever other note you would like. (Access in the Transfers section.)

  3. Set up account notifications, such as when your balance falls below a certain amount, when deposits are made, etc. (Access in the Settings section.)

  4. Take advantage of the new Balance Widget, which makes your balance available on your phone without logging in. To use this feature, you must have “Quick Balance” turned on. (Access in the Settings section.)

And we’ve added one more very cool feature! You can now login to Mobile Banking using your Fingerprint ID on Android devices that include this capability, which sure makes logging in quick and easy!

New Electronic Services

Android/iPad Tablet App - A new HHCU mobile banking app designed specifically for tablets is now available! The new app will make doing your banking with Hoosier Hills more convenient by allowing you to access your account from your Android tablet or iPad.


Apple Pay for Credit Cards - To save you more time at the register, our credit cards are now compatible with Apple Pay! Credit Union members with certain Apple devices can save the information from their Hoosier Hills credit card to their phone's virtual wallet. Then, all you need to do is hold your phone near a reader at participating stores to pay - no need to rummage through your wallet looking for the right card!

Mobile Check Deposit - Our mobile deposit service allows you to deposit your checks directly into your account without ever leaving your home. Just take a picture of your check via our HHCU mobile app or tablet app, and we'll deposit it for you!



Pending Debit Card Transactions (Now Available) - Additional upgrades to our online and mobile banking services will make it easier than ever to track your spending. You'll soon be able to see pending transactions before they clear your account, avoiding any confusion about your balances. 


Account-to-Account Transfers (Coming Soon) - Make transferring money between your accounts quick and easy with our new account to account transfers. This upgrade will allow you to move money between your accounts at HHCU and other financial institutions. Managing your finances has never been easier!



Person-to-Person Transfers (Coming Soon) - We'll help you eliminate the hassle of carrying cash or checks or the uncertainty of sharing your account number. The upgraded system will allow you to make secure transfers to another person using only their email address or cell phone number.




EMV (Early 2016) - To provide more security to your credit card purchases, we will be transitioning to EMV card technology. The chip in these cards provide more security since the data for each transaction is different and no personal information is stored on the card. There is also a magnetic strip on the EMV cards for merchants who do not yet accept EMV technology.

 Text Banking

Not using a web-enabled phone? HHCU also offers text banking. Simply register your phone and you’ll receive a text message with a special number. Text the following commands to 454545 to access your account information:

BAL: This will text you the balance of your primary account
BAL ALL: This will text you the balances of all savings, checking, and money market accounts.
LAST: This will text you the last five transactions for your primary account
BAL CHK: This will text you the balance of your checking account
BAL SAV: This will text you the balance of your savings account
TRANS X: This will transfer funds from your source account to your primary account (use the dollar amount instead of X)
HELP: This will text you the list of available commands
STOP: This will unenroll you from HHCU’s text banking

You can also register for the following text notifications to be sent to your phone:

  • Your primary account balance every Friday
  • Your primary account balance falls below a certain amount
  • A payment clears your primary account that exceeds a certain amount
  • A deposit into your primary account exceeds a certain amount

In addition, the following e-mail alerts are also available:

  • An account balance falls below a certain amount
  • An account balance goes above a certain amount
  • A payment clears that exceeds a certain amount or has a certain check number
  • A deposit into your primary account exceeds a certain amount
  • A personal message reminder (up to 50 characters) on a periodic basis

Log into Online Banking to sign up for email alerts.


When you open an account with HHCU you are automatically signed up for Phone Teller at no cost. This service provides you access to your account 24-hours a day, 7 days a week from the comfort of your home. With Phone Teller, you may make loan payments, account transfers, and various account inquiries. All you need to use Phone Teller is a phone and a personal identification number (PIN).

How to use Phone Teller

  1. Call the HHCU Phone Teller Number: (800) 865-2612.
  2. Press 2 after the auto attendant has acknowledged the call.
  3. Enter your member number followed by the # sign.
  4. Enter the last 4 digits of the primary account holder’s Social Security Number or your 4 digit PIN number.
  5. Press 1 to access checking and savings balances.
  6. Enter the Service Code for the transaction of your choice.
