10.17.17 - Upgrades to our Phone Teller system are now complete. The Phone Teller menu options have changed. Click here for a list of the new menu options. New Phone Teller cards detailing the updated menu are also available at your local service center.

10.10.17 - We are excited to announce the completion of our Mitchell Service Center Drive-Up ATM! Members may now access their Hoosier Hills Credit Union accounts with even more convenience, 24/7. The ATM is located north of the Service Center building and within the parking lot located at 45 Teke Burton Drive in Mitchell.

9.11.17 - Updates to make our Mobile app even more convenient are now available for both iOS and Android app platforms. If you do not have your apps set to auto update, simply go to you app store and manually select updates to experience the updated versions. 

For iOS, enhancements have been made to the Quick Balance and Widget to allow users to reorder and hide accounts across both features.

In the Android platform, a refresh button and a list view has been added. Users will also be able to access updated balances without having to wait for a refresh period.

In both systems, users can now manage account settings and search transaction history in screens mirroring those used in Online Banking. 

9.08.17 - Equifax, one of three major consumer credit reporting agencies, said hackers gained access to company data, potentially compromising sensitive information for 143 million Americans. Criminals apparently accessed files in the company’s system from mid-May to July, 2017. 

The information accessed primarily includes names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and, in some instances, driver’s license numbers. In addition, credit card numbers for approximately 209,000 U.S. consumers, and certain dispute documents with personal identifying information for approximately 182,000 U.S. consumers were accessed.

This breach is not a compromise of the Hoosier Hills Credit Union data system. Hoosier Hills utilizes numerous layers of cybersecurity protection for our members’ account information safety. Our members’ account safety is of utmost importance to us. Equifax has not provided Hoosier Hills Credit Union with a list of affected consumers. If you have concerns, please contact Equifax directly as detailed below.

Equifax has created a website, www.equifaxsecurity2017.com, to help consumers determine whether their data could be at risk and to sign up for credit file monitoring and identity theft protection. Equifax is offering free credit file monitoring and identity theft protection for one year to all U.S. consumers. The offer, called TrustedID Premier, includes 3-Bureau credit monitoring of Equifax, Experian and TransUnion credit reports; copies of Equifax credit reports; the ability to lock and unlock Equifax credit reports; identity theft insurance; and Internet scanning for Social Security numbers – all complimentary to U.S. consumers for one year.

The website above also provides additional information on steps consumers can take to protect their personal information. Equifax recommends that consumers with additional questions visit www.equifaxsecurity2017.com or contact a dedicated call center at 866-447-7559, which the company set up to assist consumers. The call center is open every day (including weekends) from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. Eastern time.

Additionally, all consumers are entitled to a free credit report annually from the three major credit bureaus: Equifax, TransUnion and Experian through www.annualcreditreport.com. Consumers may also want to freeze their Equifax credit reports, which would prevent new credit accounts from being opened in an individual’s name, unless specifically approved by that individual after identity is verified.

  • 7.25.17 - On the Mobile app you can now add a Bill Pay Payee within the App. This previously was only able to be done within online banking. The MORE screen has been updated and links have been added; Buzz Points for both iTunes and Google Play, and you are now able to apply for a consumer and mortgage loan from the App!
  • 7.14.17 - There seems to be no end to what scammers will do. Here’s one of the latest. Someone advertises online jobs, then once a job is accepted, they send the “new employee” a copy of the front and back of a check with instructions to print the check and use Mobile Deposit to deposit the money. Of course, the checks are fraudulent. Be alert and don’t fall victim to these scams! If something seems suspicious, give us a call at 800-865-2612. We’ll be happy to help you determine if a check or other payment is legitimate.
  • 6.30.17 - Hoosier Hills Credit Union is selling our subsidiary company, Hoosier Hills Title Company, to Thomas Title Company Inc. doing business as Ellison Abstract & Titles in Bedford. We are very pleased to be selling to a well-respected local company that has been in business since 1935. The sale will be finalized around August 7, 2017, with the business closing around November 6. All title policies purchased from Hoosier Hills Title Company will remain in effect, and coverage for members and clients will not change.

    The sale is due to changes in regulations that affect our mortgage operations. The new TILA/RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) regulations make it much more difficult for financial institutions that provide mortgages to also provide title insurance. Regulatory changes have simply made the process too complicated for us to continue to provide both services. We are confident that Ellison Abstract & Titles will continue to support the title insurance needs of our members.
