10.10.17 - We are excited to announce the completion of our Mitchell Service Center Drive-Up ATM! Members may now access their Hoosier Hills Credit Union accounts with even more convenience, 24/7. The ATM is located north of the Service Center building and within the parking lot located at 45 Teke Burton Drive in Mitchell.
9.11.17 - Updates to make our Mobile app even more convenient are now available for both iOS and Android app platforms. If you do not have your apps set to auto update, simply go to you app store and manually select updates to experience the updated versions.
For iOS, enhancements have been made to the Quick Balance and Widget to allow users to reorder and hide accounts across both features.
In the Android platform, a refresh button and a list view has been added. Users will also be able to access updated balances without having to wait for a refresh period.
In both systems, users can now manage account settings and search transaction history in screens mirroring those used in Online Banking.
9.08.17 - Equifax, one of three major consumer credit reporting agencies, said hackers gained access to company data, potentially compromising sensitive information for 143 million Americans. Criminals apparently accessed files in the company’s system from mid-May to July, 2017.
The information accessed primarily includes names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and, in some instances, driver’s license numbers. In addition, credit card numbers for approximately 209,000 U.S. consumers, and certain dispute documents with personal identifying information for approximately 182,000 U.S. consumers were accessed.
This breach is not a compromise of the Hoosier Hills Credit Union data system. Hoosier Hills utilizes numerous layers of cybersecurity protection for our members’ account information safety. Our members’ account safety is of utmost importance to us. Equifax has not provided Hoosier Hills Credit Union with a list of affected consumers. If you have concerns, please contact Equifax directly as detailed below.
Equifax has created a website, www.equifaxsecurity2017.com, to help consumers determine whether their data could be at risk and to sign up for credit file monitoring and identity theft protection. Equifax is offering free credit file monitoring and identity theft protection for one year to all U.S. consumers. The offer, called TrustedID Premier, includes 3-Bureau credit monitoring of Equifax, Experian and TransUnion credit reports; copies of Equifax credit reports; the ability to lock and unlock Equifax credit reports; identity theft insurance; and Internet scanning for Social Security numbers – all complimentary to U.S. consumers for one year.
The website above also provides additional information on steps consumers can take to protect their personal information. Equifax recommends that consumers with additional questions visit www.equifaxsecurity2017.com or contact a dedicated call center at 866-447-7559, which the company set up to assist consumers. The call center is open every day (including weekends) from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. Eastern time.
Additionally, all consumers are entitled to a free credit report annually from the three major credit bureaus: Equifax, TransUnion and Experian through www.annualcreditreport.com. Consumers may also want to freeze their Equifax credit reports, which would prevent new credit accounts from being opened in an individual’s name, unless specifically approved by that individual after identity is verified.
